There is a lot of controversy around palm oil. Is it good for the environment or not? You can find it in several products sold in the west, from cosmetics to food. In Norway we mix it with fossil fuel to reduce air pollution, but at the same time jungle needs to be cut down in Indonesia to grow the palm oil fruit.
I shot these images of palm oil workers in November 2017. All are taken on a palm oil plantation in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo.
